Mrs Cecil Sprigge of Abinger Common, Surrey interested the great showman, Charles Cruft in Boxers.

Alert as always to encourage a "new" breed, he gave the Boxer wide publicity.
At his Golden Jubilee Show in 1936 (held at the Royal Agricultural Hall consisting of 1466 classes, producing a new world record of 10,650 entries), he put on the first Boxer class ever to be held at a British dog show.
Mrs Sprigge guaranteed the class.
