I initially copied the entire UK Boxer Breed Standard from Tim Hutchins book, 'The Complete Boxer'.

I e-mailed Tim to inform him about this page and to ensure that everything was correct. Tim informed me that the Breed Standard was under the copyright of the Kennel Club and I should speak to them.

I e-mailed the Kennel Club and this is an exact copy of the e-mail I received back.

Subject: Breed Standards

Thank you very much for your recent e-mail regarding the Breed Standards. The Kennel Club has recently structured a policy on the above which is as follows:

Breed Clubs who are registered with The Kennel Club are allowed to publish the relevant Breed Standard free of charge on their Official Breed Club Web site, provided they acknowledge The Kennel Club's copyright and create a link from their site to The Kennel Club site.

For permission to be granted to a KC Registered Club, The Kennel Club must receive a letter or e-mail requesting permission to reproduce the Standard from the Club Secretary. An authorisation letter will then be sent to the Club Secretary for their files.

Other individuals or organisations are charged for reproduction at the following rates:

Individual Breed Standards

Non Commercial sites Ł40.00 + vat (17.5%) each

Commercial sites Ł85.00 + vat each

The Kennel Club owns the copyright for the Breed Standards and any reproduction of this material without permission is prohibited.

Alternatively you would be more than welcome to link directly to our Discover Dogs Web site www.discover-dogs.org.uk where breed descriptions for all breeds are published.
